I dreamed I was in a forest having a picnic. As I am about to eat my ham sandwich, a deer bounds into the thicket, startling both of us. The sunlight glinted off his thick handlebar mustache, thick rimmed glasses, and manicured antlers. We both stared. “Hey,” he said, “Have you seen some keys?” I shook my head. “The rental car company is gonna be pissed,” he murmured as he walked away. When I awoke, made this delicious hazy, Vermont–style pale ale, and named it Paul. Because it made sense at the time.
