History
This classic style imperial stout was first brewed by Dry Dock Brewing’s Director of Brewing Operations, Doug Hyndman, for the annual Dry Dock brewer’s Ho Ho Ho Slapdown holiday brewing contest in 2012. He aged the beer in whiskey barrels that he’d been looking to put to good use, which gave this already robust beer additional depth of flavor. The Whiskey Barrel Aged Imperial Stout came just short of winning the contest taking a close second place, but everyone loved the beer so much that it was put into seasonal rotation at the South Dock tasting room. The 2014 Signature Series release of Imperial Stout is the first time this beer has been available outside of the tasting room. This beer is ready to drink on the day it’s purchased, but will gain complexity with age.
Dry Dock Signature Series Imperial Stout is available in 22-ounce bomber bottles, and less than 200 cases are distributed throughout the state of Colorado.
