Fire Captain Irish Red (Nitro)

Description

“The hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men.”  ~Henry David Thoreau Our Fire Captain Irish Red Ale is both an honor to our local firefighters and the work they do and also to the tradition of Irish red ales. Leaning heavily towards the sweet biscuity flavors of malt this red is true to Horse     Dragon balance and leaves you craving a bit more after every swill. Hop bitterness is smooth and noble in character but not overpowering. Body is full and fulfilling and keeps with the nature of an Irish Red. For each pint of this ale sold through our taproom Horse     Dragon will contribute one dollar to the Firefighter Community Compassion Fund. The FCCF provides each engine in the Fort Collins fleet with a petty cash fund which responders are able to address immediate needs they see in our community during their responses to emergency calls. For more information please visit the FCCF Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/firefightercommunitycompassionfund.   Tasting Notes Appearance:  Deep amber red with creamy eggshell white head. Aroma:  Sweet nutty biscuit aroma finishing with a light graininess and mild yeast esters. Flavor:  Malt forward with semi-sweet flavor balanced with noble hop bitterness. Mouthfeel:  Chewy full body but not cloying or syrupy. Finish:  Rounded malt base cleans up well with hop bitterness.
